O ministro da Energia e Águas, João Baptista Borges trabalhou hoje, 1 de Fevereiro, na província do Cuanza Norte, mais precisamente na barragem de Caculo Cabaça, com o objectivo de avaliar as obras, sua execução e também presidir à reunião do Comité de Direcção e Monitorização, referente a esta empreitada.
No início dos trabalhos, o ministro, acompanhado de quadros do sector que dirige, participou de uma visita guiada demorada às obras da barragem.
É importante lembrar que a barragem de Caculo Cabaça tem 113 metros de altura e terá 2.172 MW de capacidade nominal, distribuída por duas centrais. A albufeira é de 92,6 hm3 de volume útil, equipada com cinco grupos e o circuito hidráulico com capacidade nominal de 1100 m3/s.
O empreendimento compreende também duas subestações eléctricas de 400 kV e 220 kV associadas à central principal e ecológica, respectivamente.
A empreitada geral do projecto é constituída por três grandes componentes: Desvio provisório do rio; obra civil proncipal; fornecimento, montagem e comissionamento dos equipamentos electromecânicos. O prazo de construção é de 80 meses. De realçar igualmente que este empreendimento enquadra-se no programa de reforço da capacidade de produção de energia eléctrica no país.
Recorde-se, igualmente, que no dia 20 de Maio de 2023, o Presidente da República, João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço accionou o botão que marcou o momento simbólico do desvio do rio.
No que concerne à mão de obra, do total de 2.598 trabalhadores, 84,26% são nacionais e 15,74% são expatriados.
A construção desta empreitada teve o seu início em Agosto de 2017 e prevê-se o início da produção comercial em finais de 2026.
Decorreu, após a visita, como exposto acima, a reunião do Comité de Direcção e Monitorização, onde, de um modo geral, foram discutidos assuntos contratuais e técnicos e também assuntos relativos aos financiamentos e pagamentos.
Nesta reunião estiveram presentes, para além do empreiteiro geral da obra, a CGGC, os subempreiteiros, nomeadamente a Voith e o consórcio Griner/Omatapalo, os fiscais da obra e outros convidados.
Por último, importa salientar que o Ministro João Baptista Borges, em termos de recomendação, pediu que se cumpra na íntegra o prazo da obra, em que se prevê que se comece a gerar energia no final de 2026, tendo em conta a importância estratégica para o país deste empreendimento.
