O Ministro da Energia e Águas João Baptista Borges, ladeado pelo Secretário de Estado para a Energia António Belsa da Costa, recebeu, no dia 29 de Janeiro de 2024, em audiência, o Director Geral do Comércio do Ministério das Relações Exteriores da Suécia Per-Arne Hjerlmborn, que fez-se acompanhar pelo Embaixador da Suécia acreditado em Angola, Lennart Killander Larsson e de uma delegação de empresas e organizações oficiais da Suécia.
O encontro teve como objectivo, encontrar formas para uma colaboração e cooperação de mútuo interesse entre a Suécia e Angola, no domínio da energia e águas, com o propósito de aumentar o comércio e investimentos entre os dois países.
As duas entidades abordaram sobre os principais desafios do sector no domínio do transporte de energia, a interligação dos sistemas com os países vizinhos, entre a Zâmbia, Namíbia e a República do Congo, o desenvolvimento das redes off-grid, bem como os sistemas de produção de Energias Renováveis, Solar e Hídrica.
Durante a audiência, as entidades abordaram igualmente sobre questões relacionadas com o abastecimento de água nas províncias e nos municípios.
Na ocasião, as equipas técnicas das duas partes foram orientadas no sentido da elaboração de um memorando de entendimento, que incluirá os projectos prioritários a serem desenvolvidos no âmbito da cooperação bilateral e também os mecanismos de financiamento dos referidos projectos.
Participaram no referido encontro, a Directora do Gabinete do Ministro, Fátima Martins, Director do Gabinete de Intercâmbio, Kiala Pierre, o Director Nacional de Energia Eléctrica, Diógenes Orsini e o Director do GEPE, José Salgueiro.
