No quadro das visitas de acompanhamento das obras emergenciais de reparação dos danos observados em algumas das secções do sistema de transferência de água do Canal do Cafu, deslocou-se à cidade de Ondjiva, província do Cunene, no período de 01 a 06 de Maio de 2023, uma equipa técnica coordenada pelo Instituto Nacional dos Recursos Hídricos (INRH), para visita de inspecção e avaliação das obras de reparação emergencial previamente identificadas.
No local, a equipa técnica do INRH, os fiscais dos Lotes 1 e 2, empreiteiros e consultores, visitaram as secções do canal reparado, o laboratório de análise de solos, a central de betão e as áreas de empréstimos de solos utilizados no tratamento das zonas adjacentes ao longo do canal, bem como a recolha de amostras de solos para análise, testes da qualidade e resistência do betão. Os resultados obtidos serão comparados aos do empreiteiro, assim como o levantamento aerofotogramétrico das chanas, que servirão de base técnica para as soluções sustentáveis a serem executas no período da estiagem, sendo que, no entanto, está garantido o abastecimento de água para as populações, o gado e a irrigação das áreas de cultivo existente ao longo de todo Canal do Cafu.
