O Ministro da Energia e Águas, João Baptista Borges, ladeado pela Governadora da província do Cunene, Gerdina Didalelwa, trabalha na província do Cunene, no âmbito de uma digressão pelo sul do País, onde irá igualmente fazer-se presente na província da Huíla, entre os dias 3 e 7 de Julho do corrente ano.
No Cunene, os governantes e a comitiva que os acompanha, fizeram uma radiografia a diversas infraestruturas do Sector da Energia e das Águas, onde destacamos o Sistema de Abastecimento de Água de Santa Clara e a sua conduta, no município de Namacunde. Foram igualmente, no primeiro dia, 3 de Julho, visitadas outras infraestruturas de energia e água na cidade de Ondjiva.
No dia 4 de Julho, a comitiva visitou o município do Cuvelai que dista a 166 quilómetros de Ondjiva, para constatar "in loco" os projectos de construção das barragens do Ndúe e do Calucuve. Em termos técnicos, a barragem do Calucuve, que está a ser erguida no rio Cuvelai, alcançou, até ao momento, um grau de execução física de 14,73% e financeira igualmente de 14,73%. No caso da barragem do Ndúe, a mesma tem uma execução física de 23,9% e financeira na ordem dos 28,0%. A barragem do Calucuve tem uma capacidade de armazenamento de 141 milhões de m3 de água, sendo que irá cobrir uma necessidade de abastecimento de água para cerca de 81 mil habitantes e 182 mil cabeças de gado. A barragem do Ndúe, que está a ser erguida no rio Caúndo, terá uma capacidade de armazenamento de 170 milhões de m3 de água e irá abastecer cerca de 55 mil habitantes e 60 mil cabeças de gado.
