Tomou hoje posse, 16 de Junho de 2023, o Chefe da Unidade de Arranque do Centro de Energias Renováveis e Eficiência Energética da África Central (CEREEAC), Jean Pierre, na presença do Secretário de Estado para as Águas, Manuel Quintino, em representação do Ministro da Energia e Águas, João Baptista Borges, da Comissaria Encarregada das Infraestruturas, Ngakono Marie Edjono, em representação do Presidente da Comunidade Económica dos Estados da África Central (CEEAC) e do Embaixador da República do Gabão Acreditado em Angola, Guy Blaise Wezet.
O referido centro é uma instituição especializada da CEEAC, tendo como missão assegurar a coordenação da implementação da política da comunidade sobre energias renováveis e eficiência energética e promover a criação de um mercado CEEAC integrado e inclusivo para produtos e serviços relacionados.
Na ocasião, o Secretário de Estado para as Águas, referiu que constitui para Angola uma honra e motivo de grande satisfação, testemunhar a criação deste centro regional que foi inaugurado no dia 10 de Março do ano em curso, com o objectivo de promover a cooperação, o desenvolvimento auto sustentável, com particular ênfase na estabilidade económica e melhoria da qualidade de vida das populações, dos países membros desta comunidade regional. O governante orientou o recém empossado, para que mantenha sempre a sua equipa unida e garantiu todo o apoio das autoridades angolanas, mais concretamente do Ministério das Relações Exteriores e do Ministério da Energia e Águas.
Reiterou igualmente a firme vontade e determinação do Governo angolano, através do MINEA, em contribuir na redução das emissões de gases de efeito estufa, através da adopção de medidas e estratégias firmes que permitam o uso de energias limpas e amigas do ambiente.
Testemunharam o acto, o responsável do serviço de energia da CEEAC, responsáveis das empresas do sector eléctrico e do MINEA.
