Decorre de 22 a 29 de Maio do ano em curso, a visita de pós-avaliação ao Projecto Transfronteiriço de Abastecimento de Águas ao Cunene (PTAAC), financiado pelo Banco alemão “KfW”, com o apoio da Comunidade de Desenvolvimento da África Austral (SADC), que inclui a reabilitação do canal do Calueque, que serve para a transferência de água bruta de Angola para o norte da Namíbia, construção de uma estação de tratamento de água (ETA) para a vila do Calueque, e respectiva rede de distribuição, bem como o reforço da capacidade de armazenamento e distribuição de água potável em Santa Clara. O projecto beneficiará cerca de 150.000 habitantes.
A referida visita tem como objectivo avaliar a sustentabilidade da intervenção e verificar até que ponto os objectivos do projecto foram alcançados, envolvendo a recolha e verificação dos dados disponíveis sobre o mesmo.
A visita teve início na barragem do Calueque, onde foi realizado um encontro introdutório com a presença de representantes do Gabinete para a Administração das Bacias Hidrográficas do Cunene, Cubango e Cuvelai (GABHIC) do Ministério da Energia e Águas, do Ministério da Agricultura, Águas e Reforma Agrária da Namíbia, do Governo Provincial do Cunene (Gabinete Provincial de Infraestruturas e Serviços Técnicos), da Empresa de Águas e Saneamento do Cunene, da Direcção Municipal da Saúde de Ombadja e da Cooperativa dos Agricultores do Calueque.
Foi igualmente realizado, após visita à barragem do Calueque, um encontro de auscultação com as autoridades locais e tradicionais.
Estão ainda previstas deslocações ao canal do lado da Namíbia, visita a Santa Clara, mais precisamente à estação elevatória, rede de distribuição, briefing com os utentes de Santa Clara, visita à nova conduta adutora "Ondjiva - Santa Clara" (em construção), Ohangwe e chafariz de Omupanda, encontro com as autoridades tradicionais de Omupanda e visita ao centro de distribuição de àgua de Ondjiva.
Está também prevista uma reunião com a Empresa de Águas e Saneamento do Cunene, onde serão discutidas questões financeiras, técnicas e operacionais, para além de uma visita a Xangongo, mais precisamente à estação de tratamento de água desta localidade.
Por fim, nos dias subsequentes, estão previstas entrevistas com representantes da SADC em Angola e na Namíbia e videoconferências com a Sede em Gaborone, bem como com representantes da Comissão Técnica Permanente Conjunta (CTPC) em Angola e na Namíbia, representantes do Ministério da Energia e Águas de Angola, representantes do Ministério da Agricultura, Águas e Reforma Agrária da Namíbia, representantes da Empresa de Águas e Saneamento do Cunene, a NamWater e NamPower, representantes do Município de Ombadja, povoação do Calueque, representantes do município de Namacunde e do município de Santa Clara.
