O ministro da Energia e Águas, João Baptista Borges teve, no dia 20 de Abril do ano em curso, uma intensa jornada de trabalho na província do Cuanza Norte.
Várias foram as infraestruturas sociais visitadas pelo ministro, ladeado pelo Governador da Província, Pedro Maquita Júlia, que estão enquadradas no âmbito dos esforços do Executivo angolano para distribuir mais água e energia às populações.
Nestes termos, a comitiva liderada por João Baptista Borges começou a sua jornada de trabalho em Ndalatando, onde foi radiografada a empreitada de construção da estação compacta de tratamento de água (ETA), para o reforço do sistema de abastecimento de água à cidade de Ndalatando. Esta importante infraestrutura irá beneficiar cerca de 28 mil famílias, tendo a sua captação no rio Lussue.
Uma outra grande obra que foi alvo de um olhar atento por parte da comitiva foi a do projecto de reforço de abastecimento de água de Ndalatando e Lucala, a partir do rio Lucala, que irá beneficiar cerca de 166 mil habitantes, com previsão de conclusão para o ano de 2024. João Baptista Borges orientou aos responsáveis por esta empreitada para que a população comece a sentir os efeitos do projecto o mais rápido possível.
No município do Golungo Alto, procedeu-se à inauguração da Subestação Eléctrica desta localidade, que é alimentada por uma linha de transmissão em 60 Kv, tendo uma potência instalada de 40 MVA e uma potência disponível de 32 MW, que irá alimentar, para além do município do Golungo Alto, o Ngonguembo e a comuna da Canhoca. Esta deveras importante infraestrutura pretende abastecer mais de 3 mil famílias.
Dando continuidade ao programa de visita a esta província, foi igualmente visitada a obra da estação de tratamento de água a partir do rio Zenza, igualmente no Golungo Alto, sendo que a sua captação encontra-se inoperante mas que, no entanto, tem uma solução definitiva em curso.
Já no período nocturno, houve tempo para um momento simbólico de grande importância para a população do Golungo Alto, mais precisamente para o bairro da Cacanga, tendo o ministro João Baptista Borges procedido à ligação do disjuntor que permitiu esta localidade ter energia eléctrica da rede pública, pela primeira vez.
